A similar talk show to “Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa” will be aired weekly on TV and Radio according to the statement of the incoming Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar after a press briefing in Malacanang on a tour given by outgoing PCOO Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr.
The popular weekly talk show that aired every Sunday has been part of the President Elect strategy to address the issues of his administration while he was still a mayor.
He said that, “It’s essentially a program that talks to the masa and addresses problems of the masa. It’s as transparent as you can get. I would propose to bring that here in Manila and make it a national program,”.
According to Andanar, the weekly program will need further discussion. The administration will also have plans for building online presence and platforms as well as planning to print a weekly tabloid to inform the people about the government achievements, policies and services.
“The vision of that is essentially to tell the people what are the available services of the government. And also to print the achievements or the policies that the people need to know. And I believe, the Secretary has left two printing agencies that are high-tech. So, I guess, it can manage the job,” he added.
Prior to his appointment as PCOO, Martin Andanar is a Filipino TV news anchor and the head of News5 Everywhere, the online news video and audio portal of TV5.
