An NGO firm plans to put a town in the Philippines to be known as the next “Silicon Valley” after Israel.
Negros Occidental Third District Representative Alfredo Benitez said on Tuesday that a non-government organization and a company from Israel are eyeing its district to become a technology hub such as the “Silicon Valley” in California, United States.
The Pass It Forward Foundation and Playtech Corp have passed almost 20 units of interactive whiteboards to E.B. Magalona National High School last Tuesday.
According to Benitez, the program was continued because of its success over the last three years.
Pass It Forward was launched as a matching portal that caters potential donors, he added.
The Israelis are known to be one of the major tinkers of modern technology such as the USB flash drive by SandDisk, The PillCam, the Drip Irrigation process, Baby Crib, and the most famous, VIBER.
These are just a few of a ton of tech stuff being invented and has been developed in Israel.
Benitez added that the Israelis wanted to seed a technology-driven facility to harness the promising brains in the Third District.

There are 13 units of e-boards and more than 300 computers distributed in the City by the benefactors.
